Stephen Marcus is an Entrepreneur In Residence at New Atlantic Ventures. Over the past fifteen years, Steve founded four companies, was the CEO of his family business, has been an angel investor in a half dozen others, and is an advisor and friend to many others. He began his career at age fourteen when he founded FutureNet, an IT consulting firm.

Before joining NAV, Steve founded Marcus Holdings, a Cambridge-based venture development and investment holding company. Prior to that, Marcus participated in several angel investments including venture-backed H3.com, where he co-led the angel investment group and served on the Board. Prior to that, Steve was the founder and CEO of The Marcus Group, a wireless tower development firm, until its sale and divestiture in 2008 to Global Tower Partners. In 1999 he founded VoiceLink Communications, a mission critical wireless carrier serving the Northeast. From 1998 to 2003, Marcus owned and operated a wireless network extending from New York City to Boston that was acquired twice by Nextel Communications, once in 2000 and again in 2003. Marcus has participated in several FCC auctions and remains an active owner-operator of wireless spectrum throughout the U.S.

Steve holds an MBA from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Science from Worcester Polytechnic Institute. He has been an FCC licensed radio amateur since age 12.
