Jorge Espinel

Jorge is EVP, Strategy & Corporate Development of News Corp.’s Digital Media Group.
Prior to News Corp., Jorge was a partner at Velocity Interactive Group (recently renamed Fuse Capital), a leading digital media investment firm in New York City.

Prior to Velocity, Jorge was head of AOL’s Corporate Strategy and M&A. He joined AOL LLC in 2002. During his tenure, Jorge’s responsibilities included driving corporate development activities, crafting business strategies, managing AOL’s key
strategic relationships, and leading the M&A team. He was a close advisor to both the CEO and CFO on operating and product issues. His team executed the recent acquisitions of Third Screen Media, Tacoda, Adtech, Yeda and Quigo. He also played a key role in developing the overall turnaround plan for AOL during Jonathan Miller’s tenure as CEO.

Jorge worked early in his career at Booz Allen & Hamilton’s premier media and entertainment practice. He specialized on cable & broadcasting, magazine publishing and digital media. During his tenure, he advised a broad range of the leading media companies, including Viacom, NBC, EMI, Universal, Hearst Magazines, Bertelsman Jorge is currently in the board of directors of Strands Inc.

Jorge earned a BS in Economics from the Wharton School, and a BA in International Relations from the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Pennsylvania.
